We don't want our government run like it were a business.

So that was how they explained it to us in high school Social Studies, the USSR lacked for a warm water port, and so this was the basis of their interest in the Middle East, and including Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. But they also take interest in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.
Murmansk is anything but warm, above the Arctic Circle. Leningrad is a bit warmer, but still access could be cut off, not that much water between Sweden and Denmark. Vladivostok might be warmer, but it is very far from the center of their economy, and very far from most of their oil.
Odessa, on the Black Sea, would seem to be the solution. But I think the Turkish Straits are iffy. Not really a place to take one of these giant oil tankers.

" As such, all the dangers and obstacles characteristic of narrow waterways are present and acute in this critical sea lane. "
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosporus#Crossings
"The Bosphorus is a narrow "S-shaped" channel of complex nature with several sharp turns and headlands, which prevent a proper look-out, and with changing currents. Such geographical and oceanographic conditions make the navigation, open to international shipping, very difficult and risky. "

So the President of Turkey calls, and Trump pulls the troops back, and Turkey starts firing on Kurds. Then Russians move in.
That area, the borders of the countries, that is where the Kurds live. It is also where the oil pipelines run.
Maybe a Russian-Ukrainian connection to these pipelines, likely be going around the eastern edge of the Black Sea, is good. But our national interests and national policies have to be looked at out in the open, not treated as a private business deal. I believe that when all the facts are on the table, it will be clear that President Donald Trump has committed treason in what private business deals he had set up, and in the compromises to our democracy, and to our national security.
Hey, here 4:20, someone else calls those two Ukrainian-American associates of Rudy Giuliani "Rosecranz and Guildenstern", just as I had!
